Bunnyrabbit Program - Active Start

Children five years of age and younger will be introduced to cross-country skiing and the healthy lifestyle associated with it through organized activity and active play. The emphasis is on having fun while developing fundamental movement skills and an appreciation of our natural environment.
Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 11 am. This is an 8 session program.

Jackrabbit Program - FUNdamentals

Jackrabbits is a 4 level program directed at skiers aged 6 - 9 years. The program teaches basic cross-country ski skills (both classic and skating) and instills a lifelong interest in the sport. The emphasis is on having fun, helping develop confidence, improving the skier’s balance and agility, and providing children with an opportunity to ski and socialize with their ski-friends.
Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 12 noon. This is an 8 session program.

Track Attack Program - Learning to Train

Track Attack is aimed at skiers 10 - 12 years of age. Games, activities and drills will be utilized to develop fitness at this stage. There will be a focus on balance, agility and rhythm. The objective is for participants to become technically competent cross-country skiers and to utilize those skills to explore a wide range of cross-country ski activities from “adventure-based” cross-country ski activities to ski tournaments, club and regional races.
Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 12 noon. This is an 8 session program with the option of participating in evening sessions at Telemark for those athletes wishing to compete in individual and team-friendly races

Teens on Skis Program

This program is for teens age 12 & up who are a strong Level 3 skier and want to improve their skating and classic technique. Fun is the main focus, not ski racing.
Group Sessions - Saturday mornings 10 am - 12 noon.  This program will run at the same time as the Jack Rabbit sessions.  Dec. 8 & 15, Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26 & Feb. 2 & 9.  Fees will be $50 for the eight sessions or a drop-in fee of

Leader Training

Nickel Plate Ski Club offers regular NCCP Level 1 Technical courses and CCBC Leader Training courses to meet the demand for trained and certified coaches.

Cross Country Canada - Skill Development Program

School Program

In partnership with the Okanagan Skaha School Board we have implemented and introductory ski program for Grade 5 students. Students are divided into groups of 8 to 10 and have a fully qualified instructor, plus one or two chaperones per group. Lessons are one and one and a half hours in the morning, and two hours in the afternoon. Instruction time is mixed with fun time to ensure high levels of interest and energy.

Day Pass is extra and may be purchased at Nickel Plate Nordic Centre at lesson time. Equipment Rental is extra and may be rented from either Nickel Plate Nordic Centre or Peach City Runners & Nordic Ski.

Ski Lessons

Want to learn how to skate ski, classic in the tracks or improve either?
Lessons can be booked through Peach City Runners & Nordic Ski and will be given by certified instructors, Frank Perrier or Cameron Smith, depending upon scheduled time.
